The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angle fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mccarthy avoids it really well and circles away.
Mccarthy throws a big shot that misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mccarthy tries a body shot but Angle blocks it.
Mccarthy is leaning against Angle and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Angle jumps guard but Mccarthy stands there with Angle around his waist. Angle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Angle jumps into guard, dragging Mccarthy to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mccarthy stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Angle throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mccarthy misses with a straight left.
Mccarthy jabs Angle to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Mccarthy throws an overhand right that drops Angle like a sack of potatoes! Mccarthy dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
