And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hugo gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Strauss counters with a good low kick that Hugo was not able to check.
Strauss takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Strauss has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Strauss tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hugo sizes up Strauss with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Hugo unleashes a big counter combination but Strauss bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Strauss will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hugo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Strauss does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Strauss has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hugo.
Hugo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Strauss's waist but Strauss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hugo off to one side.
Wilhelm Strauss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Hugo.

Strauss connects with a stiff jab that staggers Hugo - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
