0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joshua McBrooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alan Morrat! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McBrooks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. McBrooks sets himself, and Morrat steps forward looking for the clinch! McBrooks avoids it this time. Morrat shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McBrooks sprawls well. McBrooks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Morrat gets slowly back to his feet. McBrooks throws a counter high kick but Morrat was just alert enough to avoid it. A nice inside leg kick there by Morrat. That's going to slow McBrooks down. Morrat wants to clinch and McBrooks counters with a left and a right that stings Morrat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morrat changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McBrooks tries to avoid it but Morrat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McBrooks to the ground. McBrooks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Morrat closes this distance looking for a takedown but McBrooks circles away. Joshua McBrooks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Morrat. McBrooks lands with a slapping head kick. Morrat wants to clinch. McBrooks went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morrat tries to close the distance and clinch but McBrooks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Morrat with a lazy takedown attempt and McBrooks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A nice inside leg kick there by McBrooks. That's going to slow Morrat down. Morrat fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Morrat with a lazy takedown attempt and McBrooks counters with a one-two to the body. McBrooks cracks Morrat with a right hand to the side of the head. McBrooks circles away from the clinch attempt.
McBrooks swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Morrat is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Morrat rushes McBrooks and presses him up against the cage. Morrat jumps guard but McBrooks turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McBrooks stops a takedown attempt from Morrat.
Morrat is looking for a takedown. Morrat keeps control of McBrooks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Morrat tries for a takedown. No joy.
McBrooks tries to break the clinch but Morrat is controlling the position. Morrat is looking to take this one to the mat. Morrat looks winded! McBrooks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McBrooks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Morrat moves to clinch but McBrooks breaks away and McBrooks counters with a series of strikes. Morrat will be more careful next time no doubt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Morrat tries to clinch but McBrooks moves out of range. McBrooks throws a head kick that misses. Morrat throws a sloppy head kick and McBrooks moves out of range easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morrat moves into the clinch. McBrooks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Morrat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McBrooks as he jumps to the side. Morrat dodges the punch combination from McBrooks.
McBrooks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Morrat fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McBrooks avoids it really well and circles away. The fight stays on the outside here - Morrat looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morrat with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McBrooks to score with a decent uppercut. Morrat shoots in looking for a takedown but McBrooks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Morrat's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. McBrooks looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Morrat lands a jab to McBrooks's midsection. Alan Morrat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McBrooks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Morrat. McBrooks thinks about countering with a head kick. McBrooks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Morrat tries to clinch and McBrooks counters with a two punch combo. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Morrat falls off balance throwing a combination

Morrat throws a leg kick and McBrooks counters with a three punch combo that has Morrat backing up. Morrat nods at McBrooks to acknowledge the strikes. Joshua McBrooks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McBrooks is looking to land body kicks. McBrooks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Morrat. Morrat throws a nice looking combination but McBrooks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. McBrooks lands with a kick to the temple. Morrat shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Morrat shoots in for a double leg but McBrooks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Morrat shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McBrooks as he avoids it easily. McBrooks cracks Morrat with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. McBrooks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morrat circles away quickly and effectively.

McBrooks is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Morrat can do to turn this around? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Morrat is looking to clinch but McBrooks is avoiding it.

A head kick by Morrat misses and McBrooks counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Morrat is lucky that one didn't land flush. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Morrat is defended easily by McBrooks. McBrooks looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. McBrooks throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBrooks throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Morrat's head. Morrat closes the distance and clinches up with McBrooks, looking for a takedown. Morrat pushes McBrooks against the cage but McBrooks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Morrat fails with the takedown. A thudding body kick lands there by McBrooks!
McBrooks scores with a head kick. Morrat tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. McBrooks takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Morrat misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. McBrooks throws a head kick but Morrat moves out of range.

Morrat dives in and grabs McBrooks's left leg, looking for a takedown. McBrooks pushes down on Morrat's head and hops out. A left and a right from McBrooks both land. Nice combination. Morrat misses with a body kick. It appears McBrooks was looking to counter with a kick there. Morrat is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McBrooks. It looked like McBrooks was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Morrat. Morrat is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McBrooks fakes the leg kick and cracks Morrat in the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morrat fails with the takedown and McBrooks finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. A head kick misses from McBrooks. Morrat chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McBrooks can pounce on him.
Morrat lands a jab-cross combination. Morrat shoots in for a takedown but McBrooks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McBrooks is looking for a counter combo. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McBrooks throws the kick towards the body but Morrat avoids it. McBrooks throws a head kick that Morrat semi-blocks.

Morrat is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Joshua McBrooks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Morrat stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McBrooks. A slapping body kick lands there for McBrooks. Morrat has his takedown stuffed and McBrooks counters with a left and a right that stings Morrat. Morrat takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
McBrooks fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Morrat tries to counter by closing the distance. Nice takedown defense from McBrooks. No joy for Morrat on that attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McBrooks throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Morrat's head. Morrat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. McBrooks has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Morrat is on him like a limpet, forcing McBrooks back against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McBrooks working hard to break the clinch. McBrooks can't break the clinch.
Morrat is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McBrooks is defending well for now. Morrat drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McBrooks wants to break free but Morrat has control.
And that's the end of the fight! Joshua McBrooks showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McBrooks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
