PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shit Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eon Yaj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Face kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Blue clear sky. Shit Face has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Shit Face!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eon Yaj!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yaj ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Nice sprawl there from Yaj as Face shoots in.

Yaj throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Face was covering up waiting for the punch and Yaj finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Face manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yaj manages to get himself to full guard.

Yaj lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Yaj postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yaj accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Yaj scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Face is on top in guard.

Face loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yaj is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Face drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Face jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Yaj is looking for a sweep.
Yaj throws a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Yaj is looking to regain half guard here but Face keeps moving and retains side control.
Yaj is not content to let Face control the position.
Yaj tries to bench press Face off him but Face keeps the position.
Face advances nicely into full mount.
Face throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Face pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Yaj sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Face wants to work for an arm triangle but Yaj is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Yaj wants to control but Face is keeping busy.
Face will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Face seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That was a close round but I would say that Shit Face will probably get the nod.

Shit Face overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Yaj pushes Face off looking to stand but Face dives back in and keeps control.

Yaj is trying to maintain the position but Face is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Face looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Face seems to be looking for submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Yaj throws a nice looking combination but Face bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Face has momentary wrist control but Yaj slips an elbow through the middle.
Yaj is in close to Face's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Face tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Yaj slips nicely into half guard.
Yaj wants to pass to mount but Face is defending the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Eon Yaj showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Face's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Face uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yaj.
Face drops down looking for a counter takedown but Yaj sprawls and moves away.
Face pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Face closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yaj circles away.
Donk. Yaj catches Face right on the button with a cross.
Yaj tries to bum rush Face with a series of wild strikes but Face uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Face is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yaj sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Yaj lands with a straight right. Face didn't see that one coming.
Yaj defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Face.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shit Face. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Face slips a jab and a cross from Yaj.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yaj fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Face manages to avoid it.
Yaj misses with a looping right.
Face keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Yaj.
Face attempts a counter takedown but Yaj avoids it well and moves away.
Yaj has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Face bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Face tries for a kimura but Yaj is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Face cracks Yaj with a big elbow.

Face wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yaj keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Eon Yaj comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Yaj has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
