Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sol Oneal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Vakhula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sol Oneal is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sol Oneal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Vakhula!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oneal tries to sprawl but Vakhula drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Oneal wants to control but Vakhula is keeping busy.
Vakhula stalling.
Oneal is not content to let Vakhula control the position.
Oneal trying to control here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oneal wants to get back to full guard.
Vakhula trying to control the action but Oneal is working from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vakhula is looking to pass Oneal's guard but actually Oneal recovers to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The fight stays on the outside here - Oneal looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Oneal closes the distance but Vakhula moves to the side
and Vakhula counters with a left and a right that stings Oneal.
Oneal fakes the leg kick and cracks Vakhula in the body.

Oneal shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Oneal showed some decent athleticism there.
Oneal lands strikes from half guard.
Vakhula is controlling Oneal's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Ground and pound from Oneal.
Vakhula wants to improve his position but Oneal is controlling well.
Oneal is trying to control. Vakhula wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Vakhula tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Vakhula has control of Oneal's left arm, preventing Oneal from doing any damage.

Vakhula throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vakhula fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sol Oneal will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Vakhula shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Oneal sprawls well. Oneal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vakhula gets slowly back to his feet.
Sol Oneal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oneal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Vakhula counters with a nice uppercut.

Oneal throws a body kick that misses

and Vakhula counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oneal won't be happy with that.
Vakhula wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oneal keeps working.

Vakhula is trying to get an arm triangle but Oneal is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Oneal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Oneal manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Oneal is controlling Vakhula's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Vakhula with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Oneal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vakhula is working away from the top position though.
Oneal is pressing down on Vakhula's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Vakhula must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Vakhula won't allow Oneal to sweep him here.
Vakhula lands a couple of elbows.

Oneal working for a triangle but Vakhula defends it easily.
Oneal has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Vakhula looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Oneal is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vakhula sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Oneal throws out a loose jab but Vakhula uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vakhula shoots in but Oneal avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sol Oneal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Vakhula.

Vakhula has taken the fight to the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vakhula has Oneal pressed against the cage, preventing Oneal from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Vakhula keeps control of Oneal as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Igor Vakhula showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vakhula breaks from Oneal's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Vakhula stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Oneal gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vakhula to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Vakhula closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oneal did well to prevent Vakhula getting side control.

Igor Vakhula comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Vakhula has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
