The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matxaka drives through and clinches with Rodgers against the cage.
Matxaka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rodgers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Matxaka throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

As Rodgers backs off Matxaka throws a huge counter combo but Rodgers manages to avoid it all.
Rodgers stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Matxaka.
Rodgers is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Matxaka.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ibai Matxaka dominated that round.

That's time! Rodgers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Matxaka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rodgers shoots in for a takedown but Matxaka shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
