Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Uriah Faber!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez shoots in but Faber avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gomez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Faber as he jumps to the side.

Faber fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gomez sprawls well initially but Faber persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Faber works his way into full mount!
Faber sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Gomez regains half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Gomez manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Faber drops back looking for a leg! Gomez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gomez manages to kick Faber off! Faber jumps back into Gomez's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Faber passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gomez tries to improve position but can't.

Faber wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gomez, who protects the arm well.

Uriah Faber showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Faber has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
