Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ali Turko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Carlton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ronnie Carlton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ali Turko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ali Turko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronnie Carlton! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carlton wants to sweep but no luck. Turko looking to pass the guard. Turko showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Carlton looking for a guillotine here but Turko defends easily.

Turko is stalling in the full guard. Turko seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carlton for as long as he can get away with. Carlton has his foot on Turko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Turko works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carlton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Turko works a leg free and moves into half guard. Turko trying to control the pace. Carlton looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Carlton is looking for a sweep. Turko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Carlton looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carlton is looking to control Turko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carlton avoid being mounted? Carlton tries to roll over but Turko keeps him under control. Carlton looks gassed! Carlton looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Turko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Turko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Turko controlling from the full mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Turko wants to control the pace but Carlton is squirming around nicely. Turko sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Turko has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlton is looking to get to half guard. Turko with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Carlton is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Turko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carlton is looking to escape. Turko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Ali Turko just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Carlton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carlton has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlton takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Turko tries to hold on but Carlton pushes him away. Carlton is working for a guillotine from mount but Turko frees his head quite easily.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Carlton is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Turko can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Carlton trying to control but he's not successful this time. Carlton is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Carlton punching from mount but Turko doing a good job of avoiding damage. Carlton looking to secure an arm triangle but Turko defends it well. Carlton is going olschool here, as he tries to force Turko to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Turko shrugs it off. Turko is working to get back to half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Carlton looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Turko tries to hold on but Carlton pushes him away. Carlton jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Turko manages to avoid the submission attempt. Turko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Turko wants to control but Carlton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Carlton has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Turko defend it? Carlton steps over the head and cranks it - Turko is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Carlton!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ronnie Carlton!
