Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Fairbanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keoji Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Desmond Fairbanks has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Desmond Fairbanks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Keoji Takahashi ! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fairbanks fails to land the takedown. Fairbanks tries for a takedown but Takahashi circles away easily and Takahashi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Takahashi . Takahashi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Takahashi tries to free his leg and advance position but Fairbanks is retaining full guard. Takahashi trying to control but Fairbanks is working from the bottom. Takahashi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fairbanks manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Takahashi manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takahashi trying to control but Fairbanks is working from the bottom. Fairbanks looking for a sweep. Not yet Fairbanks, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takahashi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fairbanks swivels though and keeps the full guard. Takahashi is still trying to improve position. Fairbanks keeping moving, preventing Takahashi from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi pushes down on Fairbanks's leg and manages to get into half guard. Takahashi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fairbanks is just riding it out for now. Takahashi eventually gives up the hold. Fairbanks is refusing to be controlled, as Takahashi sits in half guard. Fairbanks wants to improve his position but Takahashi is controlling well.
Takahashi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fairbanks tries to get to full guard but Takahashi has control of the leg. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fairbanks manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Takahashi wants to pass the guard but Fairbanks is keeping the position. Fairbanks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Takahashi postures up.

Takahashi is looking for a kimura but Fairbanks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Takahashi to get the leverage. Takahashi is looking to advance position but Fairbanks won't allow it. Fairbanks is looking to improve his position.

Fairbanks regains full guard. Nicely done. Fairbanks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Takahashi is looking for a sweep. Fairbanks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Takahashi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Takahashi is staying active underneath Fairbanks, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Takahashi wants to improve his position but Fairbanks is controlling well.

Takahashi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Takahashi trying to pass the guard but Fairbanks defending well. Takahashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fairbanks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Takahashi seems to be working for a kimura but Fairbanks defends the submission attempt. Takahashi is looking to advance position but Fairbanks won't allow it. A close second round but Keoji Takahashi will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Fairbanks fails to land the takedown. Fairbanks tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Takahashi defends well and Fairbanks ends up having to push Takahashi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Takahashi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fairbanks was covering up waiting for the punch and Takahashi finishes the takedown easily into guard. Fairbanks controls Takahashi momentarily but Takahashi frees himself. Takahashi looking to pass the guard. Fairbanks has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Fairbanks looking to control.
