PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Wall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Phil Wall was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Hendrix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Wall!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hendrix gets tackled into the cage by Wall. Wall maintains the clinch.

Wall breaks the clinch.
Wall tries for a takedown but Hendrix circles away easily
and Hendrix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hendrix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wall moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wall avoids the head kick by Hendrix.

Wall closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hendrix's guard.

Hendrix is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Wall presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wall is trying to pull guard but Hendrix has him pressed against the cage.

Wall manages to break the clinch.
Hendrix jabbing away but nothing is landing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Wall manages to break the clinch.
Wall steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Hendrix. That one must have hurt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A punch combination from Wall misses.

Hendrix throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wall was covering up waiting for the punch and Hendrix finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wall is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Hendrix trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Wall has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hendrix should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Wall has tightened it up now! Hendrix should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Phil Wall!
