Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Harding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and De Janeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harding comes to the cage accompanied by Bitch School. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Janeiro tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harding defends well and Janeiro ends up having to push Harding into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Janeiro has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harding throws the left hand but Janeiro avoids the punch easily. Janeiro feints the counter takedown. Janeiro working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Janeiro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harding is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Janeiro tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Janeiro has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Janeiro has an Americana. Harding didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Janeiro is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Janeiro hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). De Janeiro! De Janeiro decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
