And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdul The Refugee!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Refugee shoots in looking for a takedown but Joey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing The Refugee's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Joey is looking to counter with head kicks.
Joey leaves The Refugee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tribbiani Joey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdul The Refugee.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Joey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Joey wants it to stay on the feet.
As The Refugee backs away, Joey returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

The Refugee has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Joey regains guard immediately.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw The Refugee working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Joey is on top in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The Refugee loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Joey scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from The Refugee land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. The Refugee stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abdul The Refugee!
Abdul The Refugee got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
In defeat, Tribbiani Joey stepped up to the mic, saying 'Wait a minute... I paid off the Judges and the Ref. How the hell did this happen!?'.
