Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tarmo Goyf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wampage Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goyf's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Disturbed - Asylum. Johnson has chosen Come Over (feat. Stylo G) as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tarmo Goyf! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wampage Johnson! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Goyf with that takedown attempt. Goyf misses with the combination.
Goyf slips a straight right by Johnson. Goyf throws a head kick that misses. Goyf throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily. A little jabbing left from Johnson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Goyf misses with a looping right. A head kick by Goyf misses and Johnson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Johnson misses with a hook to the body
and Goyf counters with a nice uppercut. Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Goyf should have avoided that one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goyf moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Johnson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Johnson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Tarmo Goyf has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Goyf throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Goyf steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Johnson. Wampage Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goyf misses with a left hand and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Goyf swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Johnson connects with an inside leg kick. Johnson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Goyf shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Johnson throws a leg kick but Goyf checks it. Johnson connects with a body shot that sends Goyf's belly button to the back. Goyf is breathing heavily. Jab, jab by Johnson - just one landing.
Tarmo Goyf's cut is getting worse. Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw. Johnson throws a leg kick but Goyf checks it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Goyf, before circling back to the center of the mat. Johnson rushes Goyf with punches - Goyf moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Goyf goes down! Johnson follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wampage Johnson! An out of breath Wampage Johnson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
