Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Gaylord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samir Nasri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samir Nasri has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Max Gaylord!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samir Nasri!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaylord lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nasri stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gaylord.
Gaylord chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Nasri tries a head kick but it misses.
Gaylord throws a head kick that misses.
Nasri keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gaylord swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gaylord could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gaylord lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nasri fails to land the takedown.
Gaylord scores with a nice strike.
Gaylord connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Nasri takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Samir Nasri has been cut.
Nasri lands with a kick to the ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nasri blocks the body kick.
Gaylord keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Nasri closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nasri lands in his opponent's guard.
Gaylord is breathing heavily.
Nasri seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gaylord trying to keep a closed guard but Nasri is proving a slippery customer.
Nasri wants to control from the top but Gaylord keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nasri controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nasri decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gaylord misses with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A chopping leg kick lands by Nasri.
Nasri lands a head kick!
Nasri connects with a single shot there.

Nasri moves into the clinch.
Gaylord misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Nasri working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Nasri jumps into guard, dragging Gaylord to the mat.

Nasri pushes Gaylord off and scrambles back to his feet.

Nasri rushes Gaylord and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Nasri pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gaylord tries to keep at a distance but Nasri has taken the fight into the clinch.
Nasri stalling in the clinch.

Nasri has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gaylord clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nasri trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gaylord wants to get back to his feet.

Nasri working for the choke.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nasri punches the canvas rather than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samir Nasri dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Samir Nasri's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Nasri closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gaylord wants to get back to his feet.
Gaylord keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Still in half guard, Nasri seems content to control.
Nasri is tying to control. Gaylord wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nasri is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Nasri stalling.
Nasri seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gaylord does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nasri controlling the pace.
Nasri is looking to take a break and control but Gaylord is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nasri sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gaylord defending well though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nasri is tying to control. Gaylord wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nasri feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nasri wants to control from the top but Gaylord keeps moving.
Nasri slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gaylord is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nasri pushing down on Gaylord's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Nasri is looking to take a break and control but Gaylord is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nasri is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Gaylord has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samir Nasri showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Nasri tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gaylord swivels and escapes.
Nasri shoots in but no luck this time.
Gaylord scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Nasri fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gaylord, pushing him back against the cage.
Nasri blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Nasri jumps guard but Gaylord stands there with Nasri around his waist. Nasri gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Max Gaylord has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samir Nasri.
Gaylord tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gaylord fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Nasri gets control of Gaylord's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nasri will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Nasri has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gaylord should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nasri has tightened it up now! Gaylord should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
