Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benedict Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Benedict Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marco Polo!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Summers tries to keep at a distance but Polo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Polo stalling in the clinch.
Polo lands with a short shot to the head.
Polo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Polo digs a right hand underneath Summers's ribcage. Summers let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Summers jumps into guard, dragging Polo to the mat.
Summers has his hands on Polo's head, controlling the position.
Summers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Summers trying to keep a closed guard but Polo is proving a slippery customer.

Polo gets to his feet - Summers follows without any prompting.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Polo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Summers to his feet.

Summers changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Polo instigates a clinch.
Summers blocks an elbow strike.
Summers tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Polo smiles and moves away.

Polo closes the distance and clinches.

Polo effectively controlling the action here.

Summers gets control of Polo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Summers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Summers is controlling Polo's posture.

Summers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Polo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Polo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Polo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Summers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Polo has managed to get both his arms back between Summers's legs - danger averted.
Polo wants to pass the guard but Summers is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Polo stays in close to Summers's body and controls the position.
Summers pulls Polo in close to his closed guard and prevents Polo from doing any damage or advancing position.
Summers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Polo is controlling him.
Polo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Summers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Summers seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Summers has his foot on Polo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Polo works his way back into a safe position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Summers wants to improve his position but instead Polo has moved into half guard.

Polo passes Summers's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Polo is looking to take a break and control but Summers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Summers is looking to escape.
Summers avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Polo.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Summers wants to get back to full guard.
It looks like Polo is going to stand back up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Polo has a couple of punches blocked by Summers.
Polo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Summers has Polo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Polo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Polo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Summers is defending well for now.

Summers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Summers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That's time! Summers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Summers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Polo avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Summers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Polo defends it easily.

Marco Polo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Polo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
