Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philippe Allaire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micky Thorton! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy body kick from Allaire and Thorton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Allaire is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Thorton is controlling him. Allaire being controlled here, momentarily. Allaire is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Thorton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Allaire wants to stand up but Thorton is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Allaire can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thorton controls the pace. Thorton prevents Allaire from getting back to his feet. Thorton looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Allaire looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

That's one minute gone in the round. Allaire throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Allaire tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thorton paws at him with a jab and circles away. Allaire is looking to clinch. Thorton avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thorton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Allaire throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Thorton wants to counter with a clinch but Allaire pushes him away. A decent looking body kick lands there for Allaire. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Allaire. Thorton avoids a kick to the body.
Thorton avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Allaire looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Allaire plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Allaire tries to clinch up. Thorton steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Allaire. Thorton looking to score a takedown here. Allaire is defending well but Thorton drives through and ends up in Allaire's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thorton looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Thorton advances to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Allaire looks like he's trying to stand up.
Thorton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Allaire tries to kick Thorton off in order to stand up. Thorton Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee asks Thorton politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Thorton prefers to stall for the moment though. Allaire wants to get back to his feet but Thorton drags him back down. Allaire on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Allaire tries to get out of the position. Thorton scores with a couple of short elbows. Allaire is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thorton taking a breather here. Allaire is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Thorton is controlling him well. Thorton lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Allaire down.
Thorton is staying tight to Allaire's torso, preventing him from escaping. Thorton is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Allaire looks calm but he's in trouble here. Thorton gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Allaire is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Thorton lets go of the hold and Allaire can pop his arm back in it's socket.
