Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Mykael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jami Bunks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bunks shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mykael manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mykael wants to get back to his feet but Bunks passes into half guard.

Bunks tries to advance to mount but Mykael denies him.
Bunks creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mykael sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Mykael seems a little lost for a moment, as Bunks dominates the positioning.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
You can see the frustration on Mykael's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mykael tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bunks defends well and Mykael ends up having to push Bunks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Mykael tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bunks paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bunks lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Bunks throws a sloppy head kick and Mykael moves out of range easily.
Bunks leaves Mykael with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mykael reaches up to try and control the position but Bunks seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Mykael rolls and tries to escape and now Bunks has his back!

I really don't envy Mykael right now.
Mykael is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bunks is looking for the choke from the back position but Mykael is controlling his hands well.

Bunks creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Bunks tries to stand but Mykael is controlling his head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bunks remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Bunks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bunks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bunks can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bunks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
