Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tallis Reichel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Lewis looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tallis Reichel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steven Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reichel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat.
Reichel really is a fat lump.
Lewis misses with a combination

and Reichel counters with a single leg into guard. Lewis didn't expect that.
Lewis looks winded!
Lewis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Reichel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Reichel is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Reichel controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lewis looking for a sweep. Not yet Lewis, not yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reichel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Reichel trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom.

Reichel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Reichel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lewis on the ground.
Lewis working a defensive guard here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Reichel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Reichel clinches with his opponent.

Reichel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Reichel shoots in and gets a takedown into Lewis's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reichel wanted to stand there but Lewis had control of the position.

Lewis working for a triangle but Reichel defends it easily.

Lewis keeping moving, preventing Reichel from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Reichel avoids the head kick by Lewis.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Reichel takes the fight into the clinch.

Reichel turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Reichel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lewis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Reichel is staying tight to Lewis's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Reichel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lewis keeps working.
Reichel lands a nice forearm strike.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Reichel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lewis's shoulder. That is not cool.
Lewis is trying to control Reichel's posture but Reichel avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tallis Reichel dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Lewis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reichel ducks under a wild hook from Lewis.

Reichel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reichel lands in his opponent's guard.
Reichel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Reichel trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reichel stays in close to Lewis's body and controls the position.

Lewis is breathing heavily.

Lewis throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Reichel controls from within his opponent's guard.
Reichel is looking to work some ground and pound but Lewis has wrist control.

Reichel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lewis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reichel has managed to get both his arms back between Lewis's legs - danger averted.

Reichel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lewis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Reichel to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Reichel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Reichel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Reichel looking to sit in guard and control but Lewis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Reichel is trying to keep Lewis in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Reichel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lewis defends it easily.
Lewis trying to control but Reichel is working from the bottom.
Reichel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tallis Reichel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Reichel has his foot on Lewis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lewis works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Reichel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Reichel is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lewis can do to turn this around?
Reichel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lewis working some strikes from top position.
Lewis is fighting to break Reichel's control of his arms but Reichel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Reichel is looking for a triangle but Lewis pushes his legs off easily.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Reichel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lewis!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lewis is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tallis Reichel will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Reichel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lewis has his foot on Reichel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reichel works his way back into a safe position though.

Reichel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Reichel drops Lewis with a beautiful combination! Lewis stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Reichel is looking for the KO!
Good leg kick by Reichel there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Reichel moves into the clinch.

Reichel has hold of one of Lewis's legs. Lewis is fighting the takedown attempt but Reichel gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Reichel chips away with some ground and pound.
Lewis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Reichel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lewis trying to keep a closed guard but Reichel is proving a slippery customer.

Reichel pushing down on Lewis's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Well, if Reichel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Reichel is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Reichel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Reichel stops Lewis from getting back to his feet.
Reichel is stalling here. Lewis is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Reichel seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lewis has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Lewis decides to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Reichel moves into the clinch successfully.

Reichel breaks from the clinch.

Lewis tries to keep at a distance but Reichel has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lewis is trying to stall.
Lewis tries to land knees in the clinch but Reichel avoids the damage to the body.

Reichel gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Reichel is trying to control the action in half guard but Lewis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Reichel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Reichel decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Well Reichel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
