Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Jose De Sucre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Javier Esposito! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Sucre takes a swing at Esposito's ribcage but misses. Esposito throws a sloppy body shot
letting De Sucre counter with a right hand. De Sucre slips a jab from Esposito. De Sucre pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Esposito throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
De Sucre stuns Esposito with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Esposito scores with a jab to the body. De Sucre feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Espositos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De Sucre throws a hook but Esposito avoids it easily. De Sucre is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Esposito misses with a body kick. Esposito takes one on the button. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Esposito moves away from the strike by De Sucre.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Sucre fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Esposito manages to avoid it. We've been informed that Esposito has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Esposito scores with a nice head shot. Esposito just misses with a punch to the body.
Esposito jabs De Sucre right on the nose. De Sucre blinks but takes it well. De Sucre tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Esposito manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A low kick from De Sucre misses so Esposito counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Esposito throwing strikes but missing. Esposito looking to pass the guard. Esposito wants to control from the top but De Sucre keeps moving. Esposito won't allow De Sucre to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Sucre is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Esposito is controlling him. De Sucre wants to sweep here but Esposito controlling him for the moment. De Sucre seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Esposito takes a shot to the body in his stride.
De Sucre feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Esposito's calf. De Sucre ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Esposito with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling De Sucre to score with a decent uppercut. De Sucre thuds his shin into the meat of Esposito's side. De Sucre throws a nice inside leg kick. De Sucre takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Esposito fakes a jab and throws a low kick but De Sucre checks it well. Esposito moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

De Sucre throws a leg kick that misses. A nice leg kick lands there from Esposito. Esposito fails with a takedown attempt. Esposito throws a hook to the side of De Sucre's head but De Sucre sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. De Sucre thuds his shin into the meat of Esposito's side. A solid body kick from De Sucre. De Sucre is looking to clinch. Esposito counters with a body kick. Esposito scores with a hook. De Sucre pushes Esposito away with a front kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Antonio Jose De Sucre will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Esposito looks to land a right hand but De Sucre moved out of range. Esposito misses with a takedown attempt - De Sucre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Esposito is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down De Sucre rather than just go for the knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De Sucre keeps Esposito at a distance using the push kick. De Sucre ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. De Sucre lands a really nice looking cross but Esposito seems unphased.
De Sucre lands a jab to the nose. Esposito drops his hands momentarily and De Sucre takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Esposito will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's two minutes gone in the round. De Sucre connects with a body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Esposito misses with a looping left. Esposito moves forwards but De Sucre connects with a nice, crisp jab. De Sucre is looking to land body kicks. De Sucre is looking to land body kicks. Esposito drops down looking to force a counter takedown but De Sucre defends it well. Esposito throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. De Sucre scores with a nice head shot. Esposito decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Esposito throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Esposito prevents De Sucre from improving his position. Esposito seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but De Sucre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Sucre is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Esposito is figuring out what he wants to do next. De Sucre makes his way to full guard. A much better position for De Sucre. De Sucre wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Esposito throwing strikes but missing. De Sucre pulls Esposito in close to his closed guard and prevents Esposito from doing any damage or advancing position. De Sucre wants to stand up but Esposito is controlling him. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. De Sucre manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Esposito manages to get himself to full guard.

Esposito throws a wild body kick that De Sucre sees coming a mile off. De Sucre appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Antonio Jose De Sucre is winning the standup battle so far. De Sucre misses with a body kick. Esposito uses good head movement to avoid the hook from De Sucre. Esposito misses the shot to the body. De Sucre takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's one minute gone in the round. Esposito takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. De Sucre takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Esposito throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Antonio Jose De Sucre is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. De Sucre slips a straight right by Esposito. De Sucre lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A looping hook to the body misses from De Sucre. Esposito does a little dance to reset his feet. Esposito keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Esposito has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from De Sucre. De Sucre throws a nice outside leg kick. Crunch! De Sucre slams his shin into Esposito's torso. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from De Sucre. Nice jab there from De Sucre. Javier Esposito has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's three minutes gone in the round. De Sucre blocks a jab. De Sucre uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Esposito. De Sucre swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Esposito misses with a right hand and De Sucre counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Esposito thinking. De Sucre scores with a sloppy right hand. Esposito should have avoided that one. Esposito shoots for a takedown but De Sucre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jab by De Sucre. Antonio Jose De Sucre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Esposito walks into a stiff left hand from De Sucre. De Sucre misses with a telegraphed body shot
and De Sucre takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Esposito walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Esposito throws a body shot but no joy. Esposito shoots in for a takedown but De Sucre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Esposito takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
De Sucre moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
De Sucre wants to clinch up but Esposito keeps it at a distance. Esposito looks to throw a body kick letting De Sucre counter with a right hand. A low kick from Esposito misses and De Sucre connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. De Sucre misses with a head kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Jose De Sucre showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for De Sucre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
