Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Prevost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Prevost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rocky Serra!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serra keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Serra looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Prevost clinches but Serra breaks the clinch
and Serra counters with a leg kick.
Serra throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Prevost darts in trying to clinch

and Serra counters with a nice double leg into side control. Prevost won't be happy with that.
Serra just content to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Prevost tries to improve position but can't.
Serra is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Prevost's shoulder. That is not cool.
Prevost tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Serra lands a nice forearm strike.
Prevost manages to get back to half guard.
Serra moves nicely into side control.

Prevost really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Prevost gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Serra counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Serra working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Prevost's head.
Serra is in close to Prevost's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Prevost will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Prevost is looking to sweep but instead, Serra has passed into half guard.
Serra landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Prevost is looking for a sweep. Serra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Serra works his way into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Serra is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Prevost can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Prevost is in all sorts of trouble here.

Serra has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Prevost's face.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Serra cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Serra jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Prevost manages to avoid the submission attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Prevost tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Prevost is looking for a sweep.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Serra clinches.
Prevost tries to break the clinch but Serra is controlling the position.

Serra pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Serra misses with a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Prevost wants to clinch but Serra slips to the side

and Serra counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Serra.

Rocky Serra dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Serra tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Prevost tries to clinch but Serra moves away

so Serra counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Prevost throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Prevost lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Prevost is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rocky Serra has got the better of the ground game so far.

Serra gets to his feet - Prevost follows without any prompting.

Prevost closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Prevost is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Serra's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Serra's back!
Serra has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Prevost.

Serra manages to reverse the position and now he's in Prevost's guard. Nice work there by Serra.
Prevost throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Serra is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Serra postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Serra remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rocky Serra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Prevost jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Serra is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Serra and Prevost has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

You can see the frustration on Serra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Prevost grinds an elbow into Serra's temple.
Prevost sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Serra is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Rocky Serra is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Serra has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
