Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aoki Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meguru Takayanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki comes to the cage accompanied by Baka Survivor. Meguru Takayanagi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aoki Aoki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Meguru Takayanagi! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takayanagi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Aoki throws a low kick but Takayanagi avoids it. A countering left hand to the body from Takayanagi misses. Aoki rushes Takayanagi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Takayanagi. Aoki manages to pull guard.
Takayanagi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Takayanagi's corner is telling him to maintain position. Takayanagi trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aoki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takayanagi wants to pass the guard but Aoki is keeping the position. Takayanagi trying to control but Aoki is working from the bottom. Takayanagi tries to free his leg and advance position but Aoki is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takayanagi trying to control but Aoki is working from the bottom. Aoki pulls Takayanagi in close to prevent any damage. Takayanagi sitting in guard here, content to control. Takayanagi trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Aoki will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Aoki has a takedown stuffed. A countering left hand to the body from Takayanagi misses. We've been hearing reports that Aoki has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Aoki Aoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aoki clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Aoki blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The referee calls for Aoki to work.
Aoki displaying some good clinch control by pressing Takayanagi up against the cage. Takayanagi swings wildly with an uppercut but Aoki uses good head movement to avoid it. Takayanagi leaning against his opponent.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Takayanagi tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Aoki avoids it. Aoki misses with an elbow strike.
Takayanagi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Aoki's efforts to push away. Takayanagi is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Takayanagi with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Takayanagi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takayanagi wants to stall.
Takayanagi pushes Aoki back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Takayanagi has Aoki pressed against the cage, preventing Aoki from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Takayanagi tries to work over Aoki's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Aoki stalling in the clinch but Takayanagi improves position. Takayanagi is trying to maintain a safe position but Aoki gets an underhook and turns Takayanagi into the cage. Aoki is pushing Takayanagi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Takayanagi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Takayanagi lands with a short shot to the head. Takayanagi tries to stall but Aoki uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Aoki just misses with a elbow thrown towards Takayanagi's brow. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Takayanagi obliges. Takayanagi tries to work over Aoki's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Takayanagi is looking to control Aoki's arms but Aoki gets an underhook and turns him. Now Takayanagi has his back to the cage. Takayanagi blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aoki wants to stall.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Takayanagi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. A shot in the inside from Takayanagi. Aoki misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Takayanagi.

Takayanagi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Aoki backwards. Aoki is stalling here.
Aoki is struggling to control the position. Takayanagi looking to slow down the pace here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Takayanagi misses with a body punch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aoki tries for a takedown but Takayanagi manages to get underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Meguru Takayanagi dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nice defenses there by Takayanagi. Aoki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Takayanagi's coach down at Body Pain_14elite_700$+VM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Takayanagi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Aoki fails to land with a series of punches.
Takayanagi appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Takayanagi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Aoki misses with a straight left. Aoki fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Takayanagi sprawls well initially but Aoki persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Aoki seems to be looking for submissions.
Aoki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Takayanagi keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aoki content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Aoki lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Takayanagi! Aoki looking to control but Takayanagi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Takayanagi slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Aoki sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Takayanagi defending well though. Takayanagi regains full guard. Nicely done. Aoki is in close to Takayanagi's body, working some short punches and elbows. Takayanagi wants to sweep but no luck. Takayanagi has momentary wrist control but Aoki slips an elbow through the middle. Aoki lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aoki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Aoki Aoki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Aoki distracts Takayanagi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Aoki lying in Takayanagi's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Takayanagi decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Aoki taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Meguru Takayanagi! Meguru Takayanagi bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
