Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Buchanan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Tyler Thomson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomson closes the distance and clinches up with Buchanan, looking for a takedown. Thomson pushes Buchanan against the cage but Buchanan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Buchanan thinks about countering with a head kick.
Buchanan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hazzard County Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Thomson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Buchanan lands a big head kick that sends Thomson tumbling to the mat! Buchanan takes a step backwards and waves Thomson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Tyler Thomson has been cut.
Buchanan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thomson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Horrible takedown attempt by Thomson or perhaps it was just good defense by Buchanan, which made it look bad.
Buchanan looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Buchanan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thomson with a lazy takedown attempt
and Buchanan counters with a nice uppercut.
Ross Buchanan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Thomson.
Thomson throws a leg kick but Buchanan checks it.
Buchanan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Thomson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Buchanan swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Thomson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A combination from Buchanan does no damage.
Buchanan drops Thomson with a beautiful combination! Thomson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Buchanan is looking for the KO!
Thomson is rocked!
Buchanan throws a leg kick which misses Thomson's front leg but catches the back leg as Thomson tries to avoid it.
Buchanan avoids the head kick by Thomson.
Buchanan looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Thomson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Buchanan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Whack! Buchanan lands a heavy head kick that drops Thomson. The ref tackles Buchanan to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Thomson was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Ross Buchanan!
