Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Mclean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Maia!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mclean clinches up against the cage.

Mclean's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Maia shoots in for a takedown but Mclean shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mclean throws a right hand that Maia ducks under and follows up with a left that Maia also avoids with ease.
Carlos Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Maia.
Maia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mclean but Mclean pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Maia felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Mclean uses his free foot to push down on Maia's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maia.

Mclean got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mclean has managed to get both his arms back between Maia's legs - danger averted.

Horrible takedown attempt by Maia or perhaps it was just good defense by Mclean, which made it look bad.

Mclean closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mclean lands in his opponent's guard.
