Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Kelley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marty Hughley! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughley clinches up against the ropes. Hughley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Hughley looking to slow down the pace here. Kelley leaning his opponent against the ropes. Hughley working hard to break the clinch. Kelley is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Hughley tries to throw a body punch but Kelley avoids it by throwing Hughley back against the ropes. Kelley is stalling here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughley stalling in the clinch but Kelley improves position. Kelley just leaning against Hughley, taking a breather. Hughley wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hughley unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kelley lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughley is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Kelley wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Kelley throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Hughley keeps control of Kelley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kelley lands a hook that snaps the head of Hughley backwards. Hughley looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hughley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kelley tries to circle away but Hughley has him pinned against the ropes. Kelley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hughley clips Kelley with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Kelley a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.
Kelley is rocked!
It looks like James Kelley has been cut. The fight stays on the outside here - Hughley looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Oh Kelley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kelley looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hughley fails in his attempt to clinch. Hughley plants his feet and throws a devastating head kick! It connects square on Kelley's ear and has knocked him out cold! No need for a count here as the referee immediately tends to a stricken Kelley, crumpled in the corner! Wow, what a finish!
