Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jan Kriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emre Hussain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kriel comes into the arena with Fokofpolisiekar - Fokofpolisiekar blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Emre Hussain was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Kriel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Emre Hussain!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Hussain.
Kriel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hussain slips a straight right by Kriel.
Hussain fails with a takedown attempt.

Kriel gets caught napping as Hussain dives in and scores a takedown. Kriel manages to retain guard.
Hussain is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kriel wants to sweep but no luck.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hussain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kriel fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hussain has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Hussain counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hussain does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Kriel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jan Kriel decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
