Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Augusto Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Gall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes gets caught napping as Gall dives in and scores a takedown. Mendes manages to retain guard.
Mendes is controlling Gall's posture.
Gall trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mendes wants to hit a switch here but Gall passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mendes there!

Mendes is looking for a choke. Gall gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Gall manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Mendes wants to sweep here but Gall controlling him for the moment.

Gall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mickey Gall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
