Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lethal Larry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larry is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Promise Man. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lethal Larry!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia misses with an uppercut.
Larry leaves Garcia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Larry misses with an attempted mid kick.
Larry tries for a takedown but Garcia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Larry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Garcia sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice defenses there by Larry.
Larry cracks Garcia with a right hand to the side of the head.
Garcia throws a leg kick
and Larry counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Larry thumps Garcia with a low kick.
Larry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Garcia pinned against the cage. Garcia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rodney Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lethal Larry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Larry does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Garcia takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Garcia lands a jab to Larry's midsection.
Larry fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Garcia checks it well.

Garcia lands with a shot to the body.
Larry throws a jab when Garcia was well out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Garcia on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Garcia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Garcia scores with a sloppy right hand. Larry should have avoided that one.


It looks like Lethal Larry has been cut.
Garcia misses with a hook. Larry ducked under it nicely.

Larry swings and misses with a shot to the body
enabling Garcia to counter with a crisp jab.
Larry fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Larry lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Garcia wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Larry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rodney Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Larry throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A telegraphed right hand from Larry misses the target.

Larry lands a leg kick that knocks Garcia off balance momentarily.

and Larry counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Garcia works the jab nicely.
Garcia throws a chopping leg kick but Larry manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Larry looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Garcia!
Garcia is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Larry's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Garcia is looking for a sweep. Larry is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Larry is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Garcia defends it well.
Garcia wants to control but Larry is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garcia moves into full guard.
Garcia lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Larry wants to sweep but no luck.

Garcia sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Larry's guard.
Larry is trying to get back to full guard.

Larry wants to improve his position but Garcia is controlling well.

Garcia distracts Larry with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Larry looking for a guillotine here but Garcia defends easily.

Larry is looking for a triangle here but Garcia uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rodney Garcia will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Lethal Larry's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Garcia closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Garcia blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Garcia lands a left hand that snaps the head of Larry backwards.
Garcia misses with a punch on the inside.

Larry struggles to land a body shot inside as Garcia controls his hands.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Larry avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Larry lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Garcia backwards.
Garcia tries a body shot but Larry blocks it.
Garcia can't find room to land a body shot as Larry controls the action.
A nice left hand lands by Larry.
Garcia misses with a short punch on the inside.

Garcia is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Larry is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Larry tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Garcia's elbow.

Larry breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Larry chopping away at his opponent's legs.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodney Garcia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garcia will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Garcia closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lethal Larry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rodney Garcia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Larry patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Garcia trying to control the position but Larry manages to sink in the hooks.

Larry has got his arm under Garcia's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Garcia has spun round into Larry's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Garcia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Larry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garcia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garcia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Larry looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Garcia passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Garcia remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Larry is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here as Garcia stalls from top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Larry sneaks back into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rodney Garcia.
I think Garcia has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
