Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Vlasov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roman Vlasov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Max Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roman Vlasov!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Power moves into range and clinches up with Vlasov.
Vlasov lands a body punch in the clinch.
Vlasov stops a takedown attempt from Power.
Vlasov tries for a takedown but Power manages to get underhooks.

Power breaks the clinch.
Power takes one on the button.


It looks like Max Power has been cut.

Vlasov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vlasov lands a couple of elbows.
Power keeping moving, preventing Vlasov from controlling successfully.
Power looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Vlasov throwing strikes but missing.
Vlasov postures up in Power's guard and throws a big left but Power blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vlasov connects with a couple of short punches.
Vlasov trying to control but Power is working from the bottom.
Vlasov chips away with some ground and pound.
Vlasov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Power's head.

Power looking for a guillotine here but Vlasov defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Power working a defensive guard here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Power holds on and takes a little breather.
Vlasov landing with the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vlasov with a flurry of punches that miss.
Vlasov scoring with punches to the head and body.
Vlasov trying to control the position from guard on top but Power is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vlasov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Power haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vlasov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Vlasov trying to control but Power is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Vlasov gets caught napping as Power dives in and scores a takedown. Vlasov manages to retain guard.
Vlasov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Power throwing strikes from guard but Vlasov blocks nicely.
Vlasov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Power not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Power throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Power trying to control but Vlasov is working from the bottom.
Vlasov trying to keep a closed guard but Power is proving a slippery customer.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Power looking to pass the guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Donk. Vlasov catches Power right on the button with a cross.

Power drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Power postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Power wants to control from the top but Vlasov keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Roman Vlasov will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Max Power's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Vlasov lands a slapping body shot.

Vlasov feints and as Power raises his hands in defense, Vlasov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vlasov stops Power from standing up.
Vlasov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Vlasov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Power. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vlasov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Vlasov trying to control the position from guard on top but Power is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vlasov looking to pass the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Power preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Vlasov trying to control but Power is working from the bottom.
Vlasov landing with the ground and pound.

Vlasov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Power is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Vlasov wants to control from the top but Power keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Power looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Roman Vlasov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Vlasov is working Power over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Vlasov trying to control the position from guard on top but Power is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vlasov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Vlasov stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Power has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Vlasov manages to get his head free but now Power has transitioned to an armbar! Vlasov grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Power! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Max Power!
After the fight, Max Power was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
