Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Pits!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pits misses with a hook
and Newton counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Newton.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Newton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Pits really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Newton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Newton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Newton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Newton advances position into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Newton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pits, who protects the arm well.
Newton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Newton looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Newton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Newton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Newton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Newton has hold of Pits's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Pits seems comfortable defending it but Newton has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Pits is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pits is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Newton couldn't care less - he's delighted!
