Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Phoenix Templar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 10 - 2, fighting out of New York, Lewis Lee! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Lee looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lee misses with a wild body shot. Good standup being displayed there by Lee as he connects with a hook.
It looks like Phoenix Templar has been cut. Templar scores with a nice body kick.
Lee throws a one two combo.
Templar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Templar takes a body punch but keeps moving. Templar moves away from the strike by Lee. Lee throws the left hand but Templar avoids the punch easily. Templar connects with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lee misses with a straight left. Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Lee walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Templar checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Templar, right into the meat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee throws a looping overhand right but Templar ducks down to avoid it. Lee throws a body punch but Templar moves out of range. Templar is looking to counter punch. Templar connects with a nice looking jab.
Templar connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Lee misses the body punch and Lee takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lewis Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee looks to land a combination. Templar sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Templar misses with a hook
and Lee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A low kick from Templar is predictable there and Lee cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Templar takes a shot right to the bread basket. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lee throws a body shot but no joy. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Templar, as that shot connected.
Lee will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee scores with a three punch combo!
Templar is rocked! Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Lee! Templar is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lewis Lee! After winning the bout, Lewis Lee thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
