The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kimue sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alvertis's guard.
Kimue is looking for a kimura but Alvertis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kimue to get the leverage.
Kimue lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kimue wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alvertis keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kimue wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alvertis, who protects the arm well.
