Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anibal Dennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnius Taka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anibal Dennis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Arnius Taka! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taka tries to keep at a distance but Dennis has taken the fight into the clinch. Taka lands an elbow that stopped Dennis in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Anibal Dennis has been cut. Dennis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Taka smiles and moves away.
Dennis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dennis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Dennis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taka wants to control from the top but Dennis keeps moving. Dennis trying to strike off his back.
Dennis pulls Taka in close to his closed guard and prevents Taka from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taka engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Dennis wants to stand up but Taka is controlling him. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dennis has his hands on Taka's head, controlling the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Taka wants to clinch up but Dennis keeps it at a distance. Taka feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dennis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Dennis tries to pull guard but Taka forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Dennis fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anibal Dennis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Taka manages to break the clinch.
Taka shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dennis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Taka trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dennis's guard. Taka postures up and lands a big shot to Dennis's brow. Dennis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Taka. Dennis controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dennis keeping moving, preventing Taka from controlling successfully. Dennis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Taka is one step ahead there. Taka decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dennis, up you get!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taka tries to clinch but Dennis is having none of it. A head kick misses from Taka. Taka shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dennis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Taka on the ground. Dennis has control of Taka's left arm, preventing Taka from doing any damage. Taka is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Taka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Taka trying to control the position from guard on top but Dennis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dennis wants to get back to his feet but Taka is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Taka not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taka trying to control but Dennis is working from the bottom. Taka lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dennis has Taka pulled in close to control his posture. Dennis wriggles free and stands up. Taka feints and as Dennis raises his hands in defense, Taka changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Taka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Taka wants to control from the top but Dennis keeps moving. Taka stands up over Dennis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Dennis is rocked! Taka stands up over Dennis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Oh Dennis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Taka loads up on a big left hand. Dennis felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Taka looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Dennis can't hide his disappointment, as Taka celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Arnius Taka!
