Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deon Babbetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tiago Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deon Babbetti!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babbetti closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Babbetti is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Babbetti is pressing down on Silva's thigh, looking to free his foot. Silva is holding on for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silva wants to hold on but Babbetti pushes him away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deon Babbetti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Silva lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Silva tries to clinch there but Babbetti circles away.
Silva dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Babbetti. That did some damage!
Babbetti misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Babbetti changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Babbetti decides to stand back up.

Silva wants to clinch up but Babbetti keeps it at a distance.
Silva connects with a high kick.

Babbetti is looking to slow Silva down with leg kicks.
Silva throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Babbetti.

Babbetti rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva prevents the takedown attempt.

Babbetti turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Babbetti manages to end up in side control.

Babbetti decides to stand up, so the ref orders Silva to his feet.
Babbetti throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Babbetti decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Deon Babbetti has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Deon Babbetti comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Babbetti winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
