Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Micheal jackson bad kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Chang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Brown! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Chang scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Brown is looking for a sweep. Chang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Chang is trying to work for a kimura but Brown is defending well.

Chang is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brown is just riding it out for now. Chang eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Brown is defending against the submission attempts here by Chang.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown is trying to stand back up but Chang is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Chang wants to stand up but Brown has a hold of him and won't allow it. Chang looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Brown gets full guard. Chang is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brown is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brown has escaped and now he's on top! Brown has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Chang is proving hard to escape from. Brown advances position into side control! Brown advances to full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Chang is in real trouble.

Chang turns into Brown and is now in his guard.
Brown wants to sweep but no luck. Chang working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Chang drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chang jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Chang is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Brown is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Chang scoring with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chang throwing strikes from guard but Brown blocks nicely. Chang throws a big elbow that misses. Chang drops back, looking for a kneebar! Brown looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Brown looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Brown! Brown trying to control the action but Chang is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chang wants to control but Brown postures up. Brown trying to control the position but Chang is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Chang will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Brown thumps Chang with a low kick. Brown getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Mike Chang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brown shoots in looking for a takedown. Chang tries to sprawl out of it but Brown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Chang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Chang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Brown pushes Chang off and gets back to his feet.
Chang changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Chang manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Brown is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Brown scores with a sloppy right hand. Chang should have avoided that one. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chang shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed Chang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chang walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Brown cracks Chang with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Chang stuffs the takedown. Chang thinks about countering with a head kick. Brown just misses with a punch to the body.
Mike Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chang blocks a jab. Chang seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Chang uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brown. Chang fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Chang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brown connects with the punch. Chang gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brown counters with a lovely straight right hand! Chang shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brown manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Brown looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Brown has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Brown is breathing heavily. Chang sitting in guard here, content to control. Chang throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chang with a flurry of punches that miss. Brown working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Chang. Chang drops back looking for a leg! Brown is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brown manages to kick Chang off! Chang jumps back into Brown's guard. Chang stands and throws Brown's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chang wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brown, who protects the arm well. Brown takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Chang tries for a kimura but Brown is defending well. Chang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brown has escaped the position, nice work there. Chang tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chang has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Brown tries to buck Chang off but Chang is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chang controlling the position from side mount. Chang tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Chang swings around for an armbar but Brown sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Chang's guard. Chang is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.
Chang had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily. Chang keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but James Brown will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Brown misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brown lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
James Brown seems to be getting the better of the standup. Chang takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Brown stalks Chang and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chang's face. Chang staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Mike Chang has been cut. Brown swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brown smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Chang with a poor takedown and Brown counters with a nice body shot. Brown throws a solid leg kick but Chang takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brown. Chang fails with a takedown attempt. Brown has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Chang is landing a low percentage of strikes. Brown lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brown with a nice cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown tries to close the distance and clinch but Chang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brown moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Brown throws a combination that misses so Chang counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brown takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chang looking to sit in guard and control but Brown gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Chang working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Chang is tightening it up a little... Brown has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Brown reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Brown taps out! Nice BJJ there by Chang!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Mike Chang! Our winner, Mike Chang, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
