Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xantos Aremis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Beattie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Aremis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Infected Mushroom - Merlin. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aremis blocks a jab.
Xantos Aremis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beattie takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Aremis looks to throw the jab but Beattie is out of range.
Aremis connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Aremis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Aremis stuns Beattie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Beattie shoots in and bounces Aremis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Beattie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Beattie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Aremis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Aremis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Beattie.
Beattie throws a strike but Aremis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Beattie is looking to cinch up a triangle. Aremis throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Beattie's body to avoid the submission. Beattie has instead reached around Aremis's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Beattie arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
