Bailey Sr. kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Damian Marley - Road To Zion. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 27 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clinton Hessler!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hessler on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bailey Sr. misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bailey Sr. goes for a double leg but Hessler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hessler continues to drive forward.
Bailey Sr. swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hessler throws a big shot that misses.

Hessler doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Bailey Sr. throws a good cross that connects.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bailey Sr. throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bailey Sr. tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hessler defends well and Bailey Sr. ends up having to push Hessler into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hessler! But no joy.

Bailey Sr. ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hessler finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

A clash of legs there as Bailey Sr. blocks the low kick.
Bailey Sr. was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Hessler looks to land a combination but Bailey Sr. avoids it well.

Bailey Sr. stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hessler.

Hessler looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bailey Sr. with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hessler to score with a decent uppercut.

Hessler lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Bailey Sr. is looking to wear down Hessler with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bailey Sr. crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hessler - the referee stops the clock and Bailey Sr. gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hessler. Bailey Sr. manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hessler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hessler wants it to stay on the feet.
Bailey Sr. tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hessler defends well and Bailey Sr. ends up having to push Hessler into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bailey Sr. looks to land a left hand but Hessler moved out of range nicely.
Hessler's coach down at The Studio was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hessler's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

and Bailey Sr. connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bailey Sr. throws a lazy right hand but Hessler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Some wild striking there from Hessler.
Bailey Sr. shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hessler as he avoids it easily.
Hessler lands the left hand.
Bailey Sr. swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bailey Sr. ducks under a wild hook from Hessler.
Bailey Sr. throws an off balance right hand
and Hessler counters with a stiff right hand.

Hessler takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bailey Sr. avoids the head kick by Hessler.

Bailey Sr. fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hessler to the ground. Bailey Sr. is now in Hessler's guard.
Bailey Sr. might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hessler is pulling down on Bailey Sr.'s head to control his posture.
Bailey Sr. trying to control but Hessler is working from the bottom.

Bailey Sr. content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hessler tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bailey Sr. stays in close to Hessler's body and controls the position.
Bailey Sr. slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hessler is not content to let Bailey Sr. control the position.
Hessler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bailey Sr. wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Clinton Hessler will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Kordell Bailey Sr.'s cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bailey Sr. catches Hessler with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Hessler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bailey Sr. throws a shot from downtown. Hessler moves away and avoids it.

Bailey Sr. dives in for a single leg takedown but Hessler sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hessler follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Hessler lunges at Bailey Sr. with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bailey Sr.'s hand.
Donk. Hessler catches Bailey Sr. right on the button with a cross.
Bailey Sr. takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Clinton Hessler seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bailey Sr. misses with a two punch combination.
Bailey Sr. throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Hessler counters with a crisp right hand that drops Bailey Sr.! Hessler lets Bailey Sr. back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bailey Sr. fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Oh Bailey Sr. is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kordell Bailey Sr.. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hessler lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Bailey Sr. out cold! Bailey Sr. is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

In his post fight interview, Clinton Hessler gave a big smile as he said 'Boom! '.
In defeat, Kordell Bailey Sr. stepped up to the mic, saying 'No worries'.
