Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Barath! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Tuncer! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left lands for Tuncer. Tuncer throws a right and a left that Barath avoids nicely. Tuncer connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Tuncer throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sloppy strikes from Tuncer. Those never looked like landing. Barath moves into the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Tuncer is trying to break free. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barath is working for takedown but Tuncer is calmly controlling the position for now. Barath keeps control of Tuncer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Barath pulls guard effortlessly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuncer tries to stand but Barath is controlling from the bottom. Barath pulls Tuncer in close to prevent any damage. Tuncer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Barath is proving hard to escape from. Tuncer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Barath bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tuncer's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Barath throwing strikes from guard but Tuncer blocks nicely. Barath is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Barath stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tuncer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Barath's corner is telling him to maintain position. Tuncer wants to stand up but Barath is controlling him. Barath gets to his feet. Tuncer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barath on the wrong end of a nice hook. Tuncer scores with a nice right hand.
Tuncer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Barath is rocked! Tuncer falls off balance throwing a combination
and Barath counters by moving into the clinch. Oh Barath is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Barath is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tuncer is defending well for now. Tuncer is defending well against a takedown attempt. A frustrated look appears on Tuncer's face as he tries to break the clinch. Barath seems to have got his legs back now. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Tuncer has had enough of the clinch but Barath keeps him there for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tuncer is trying to break free. Barath changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tuncer fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Barath. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tuncer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tuncer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Barath ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Barath shoots for a takedown but Tuncer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tuncer throws a jab but it's blocked by Barath. Tuncer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tuncer lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Chris Barath has been cut. Tuncer looks winded! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tuncer misses with a double jab
and Barath counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Tuncer misses with a few strikes there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Tuncer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chris Barath's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Tuncer misses with a hook. Barath ducked under it nicely. Adam Tuncer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tuncer misses with a combination
and Barath counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tuncer! Barath works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Barath decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tuncer to his feet. Barath takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Tuncer might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Tuncer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Barath on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Tuncer missing with a left hand there. Barath was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Barath shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tuncer as he avoids it easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tuncer pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tuncer is breathing heavily. Barath scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Barath stands up from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuncer scores with a punch to the head. Barath gets a clinch. Barath wants a takedown but no success here.
Barath tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Barath. Tuncer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Barath has Tuncer pushed against the cage. Tuncer wants to get back to striking at distance but Barath won't allow it.

A close second round but Adam Tuncer will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Chris Barath's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

A jab from Barath finds it's way through Tuncer's defenses. Tuncer feints with a jab and clips Barath right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Barath is sent crashing into the canvas and Tuncer leaps in for the kill! Barath tries to get to his feet but Tuncer is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Barath is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Tuncer! In his post fight interview, Adam Tuncer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
