Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Theodor Eicke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ong Bak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ong Bak will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Theodor Eicke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ong Bak! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bak stuffs the takedown attempt from Eicke. Eicke gets slowly back to his feet. Bak throws a right hand that Eicke ducks under and follows up with a left that Eicke also avoids with ease. Bak misses with a takedown attempt so Eicke counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bak wants to get back to his feet but Eicke is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Eicke passes easily into side control. Nice work. Bak is trying to get back to half guard. Bak is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Eicke asserts his dominance and retains side control. Bak wants to control but Eicke postures up. Bak tries to buck Eicke off but Eicke is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eicke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bak keeps working. Eicke throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bak lands with a slapping head kick. Eicke has his takedown stuffed and Bak counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bak pulls guard effortlessly. Eicke drops back looking for a leg! Bak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bak manages to kick Eicke off! Eicke jumps back into Bak's guard. Eicke advances position into side control! Eicke is breathing heavily. Bak can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bak tries to buck Eicke off but Eicke is having none of it. Bak is not content to let Eicke control the position. Eicke creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bak sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Eicke goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bak has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Eicke but great work by Bak. Bak looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Eicke is avoiding damage well.
Eicke is trying to get back to half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bak throws a head kick that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eicke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bak working a defensive guard but Eicke manages to pass into side control anyway.
Eicke wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bak, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eicke tries for a kimura but Bak is defending well. Eicke working away. Bak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eicke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Eicke tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Bak is trying to control Eicke's posture but Eicke avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eicke tries for a kimura but Bak is defending well. Bak wants to get back to his feet but Eicke drags him back down.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Eicke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Eicke will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Theodor Eicke. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bak fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bak doesn't succeed with the takedown and Eicke counters with a shoot takedown. Bak fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Theodor Eicke dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Bak goes for a high kick. It partially lands. The fight stays on the outside here - Bak looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Eicke fails with the takedown and Bak counters with a takedown into side control. Eicke is not content to let Bak control the position. Eicke tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bak wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Eicke prevents Bak from moving into mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eicke gets back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Eicke is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bak is looking to take a break and control but Eicke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bak closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Eicke trying to control from the bottom.
Bak trying to control from Eicke's half guard. Eicke has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Bak wanted to stand there but Eicke had control of the position. Eicke is looking for a triangle but Bak pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bak wants to control from the top but Eicke keeps moving. Eicke lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bak! Eicke misses with a head shot. Bak is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eicke throwing strikes here but Bak is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Eicke trying to control but he's not successful this time. Eicke thowing shots but they're missing. Bak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Bak manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Eicke is taking a breather. Bak says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Eicke passes to full mount! Eicke looking to isolate an arm here. Bak doesn't see it coming and as Eicke extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Eicke!
