Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 34 - 4, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bud Macintosh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Antero Mela!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mela misses with a looping right.

Mela tries to sprawl but Macintosh drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Macintosh prevents Mela from improving his position.
Mela keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Macintosh passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mela!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Macintosh wants to control the pace but Mela is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Macintosh is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mela is just riding it out for now. Macintosh eventually gives up the hold.
Macintosh is thwarting Mela's attempts to control the position.
Mela is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Macintosh is staying active.
Macintosh content to control rather than advance.
Mela slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Macintosh pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mela is keeping the position for now.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mela is on top in guard.

Mela stands up over Macintosh, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Macintosh keeping moving, preventing Mela from controlling successfully.
Macintosh has momentary wrist control but Mela slips an elbow through the middle.
Mela slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mela stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macintosh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Macintosh trying to keep a closed guard but Mela is proving a slippery customer.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mela working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Macintosh's head.
Macintosh utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Mela punishes Macintosh's body with a nice straight punch.

Macintosh looking to score a takedown here. Mela is defending well but Macintosh drives through and ends up in Mela's guard.

Mela is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Macintosh's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Macintosh's back!

Mela throwing sloppy strikes.
Mela has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mela is looking to control Macintosh but Macintosh is wriggling around and keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macintosh is trying to break free.

Mela connects with a big shot to the side of Macintosh's head.
Macintosh is taking damage to the body and head.
Mela punches Macintosh on the ear.
Mela cracks Macintosh with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Macintosh from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mela is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Antero Mela has got the better of the ground game so far.
Macintosh wants to escape the position.

Mela looking for the choke but no joy.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Mela.
Mela is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mela gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mela gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mela apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Macintosh tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Mela looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mela has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mela passes the guard and advances to mount!

Macintosh is rocked!
Mela postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Macintosh badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Mela around the waist but Mela pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Mela is the winner by TKO! Mela jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Antero Mela!
