The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lei feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Maloney's calf.
Frito Lei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lei misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
As Lei backs off Maloney throws a huge counter combo but Lei manages to avoid it all.
Lei tries to close the distance and clinch but Maloney swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lei closes the distance and clinches.

Maloney wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lei has him pressed against the cage.

Lei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maloney moves away.
