Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Seve Ballesteros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Umberto Sotto Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seve Ballesteros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 24 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Umberto Sotto Jr!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ballesteros drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ballesteros scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Ballesteros drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ballesteros jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sotto Jr is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ballesteros stays in close to Sotto Jr's body and controls the position.
Ballesteros working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sotto Jr's head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sotto Jr pulls Ballesteros in close to prevent any damage.
Ballesteros throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sotto Jr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ballesteros has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ballesteros stands up over Sotto Jr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ballesteros is working Sotto Jr over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ballesteros content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Ballesteros tries to free his leg and advance position but Sotto Jr is retaining full guard.

Ballesteros lands a couple of digs.

Sotto Jr looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ballesteros is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ballesteros working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sotto Jr has control of Ballesteros's left arm, preventing Ballesteros from doing any damage.
Ballesteros lands a couple of elbows.
Ballesteros seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ballesteros connects with a couple of short punches.
Ballesteros passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sotto Jr regains half guard, as Ballesteros was trying to land strikes.
Ballesteros throwing shots but Sotto Jr is blocking nicely.
Ballesteros thows a huge punch but Sotto Jr dodges it nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sotto Jr gets back to full guard.
Ballesteros throws a strike but Sotto Jr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sotto Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Ballesteros is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seve Ballesteros dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ballesteros is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sotto Jr sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Ballesteros! Sotto Jr is out on his feet! Ballesteros rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sotto Jr is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sotto Jr is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seve Ballesteros!
Our winner, Seve Ballesteros, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
