Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edward Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yuri Boyka looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edward Newman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yuri Boyka! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boyka is looking to clinch. Boyka looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Newman clobbers Boyka with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Newman drives through and clinches with Boyka against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Boyka wants the takedown. Newman is fighting it off but Boyka persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Newman's guard against the cage. Newman scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Newman gets a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Newman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Newman closes the distance and pushes Boyka back into the cage. Boyka has Newman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Boyka pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Newman tumbling to the mat - Boyka dives into Newman's guard. Newman scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newman moves into the clinch. Newman tightens his grip and picks Boyka up, before dumping him to the ground. Boyka manages to land in guard. Newman stands up from Boyka's guard - Newman perhaps looking for a knockout. Newman has closed the distance and engaged Boyka in a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newman is trying to trip Boyka. He has hold of a leg but Boyka is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Newman persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Boyka wants to sweep but no luck. Newman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Newman tries to stand but Boyka is controlling from the bottom. Boyka looking to control.
This has been an exciting period of action! Newman gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newman gets a clinch. Boyka successfully pulls guard.
Boyka wants to stand up but Newman is controlling him. Newman wants to stand and escape but instead Boyka has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Newman wants to sweep here but Boyka controlling him for the moment. Newman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boyka on the ground. Newman being controlled here, momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Newman working for a triangle but Boyka defends it easily.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Boyka working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Newman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edward Newman dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Newman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boyka can do to turn this around? Boyka strikes from the bottom but Newman uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Newman decides to stand back up. Newman steps back and let's Boyka get back to his feet. Boyka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Boyka wants to advance to full mount but Newman doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Boyka is breathing heavily. Newman managing to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boyka looking to sit in guard and control but Newman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Boyka pulls Newman in close to his closed guard and prevents Newman from doing any damage or advancing position. Newman postures up in Boyka's guard and throws a big left but Boyka blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Boyka trying to control the position.
Newman really is a fat lump. Newman stopping the sweep attempt from Boyka. Newman controlling from the top position. Edward Newman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Newman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Boyka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Newman listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Boyka loads up on a big right hand but Newman slips the punch. Newman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Newman clinches up against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Newman drags the fight down to the ground.
Newman wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Newman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Boyka forces his way into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A cross from Newman lands. Newman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Boyka manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Boyka pushes Newman off and scrambles back to his feet.
Yuri Boyka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Newman gets caught flat footed, as Boyka shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Newman pushes Boyka off and scrambles back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boyka takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Newman clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Newman gets control of Boyka's arms and successfully pulls guard. Newman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Newman wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Boyka preventing the sweep. Boyka is looking to stand up but Newman won't let him. Newman keeping moving, preventing Boyka from controlling successfully. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Boyka drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Newman dives on top into guard. Boyka is trying to hold Newman in close to prevent damage but Newman has managed to pass into half guard.
Newman decides to return to a standing position. Edward Newman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newman lands a body shot.
Newman clinches up with Boyka and pushes him back against the cage. Newman has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Boyka regains guard immediately. Newman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Boyka, up you get! Newman clinches with his opponent.
Newman keeps control of Boyka as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Newman pulls guard successfully.
Boyka wants to control from the top but Newman keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boyka wanted to stand there but Newman had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boyka trying to control the position from guard on top but Newman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boyka avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boyka wants to control from the top but Newman keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Edward Newman showed his dominance in that final round. Well Newman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
