Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Whitehead! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Zavimbe! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zavimbe's corner calls for a 1-2. Zavimbe obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Zavimbe scores with a jab. Whitehead acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Whitehead takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Zavimbe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Whitehead circles away quickly and effectively. Zavimbe lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Whitehead shoots in but no luck this time. Whitehead tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Zavimbe defends well and Whitehead ends up having to push Zavimbe into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Zavimbe lands a nice shot that snaps Whitehead's head back.

A battle for position here, against the cage. Zavimbe softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Whitehead changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zavimbe fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gary Whitehead. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zavimbe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zavimbe wants it to stay on the feet. Zavimbe drops Whitehead with a naaaaasty hook - Whitehead is in real trouble here! Zavimbe dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
