Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaiah Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter has chosen Hillbilly Deluxe by Books & Dunn as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Karlsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Isaiah Carter! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karlsson looks to land a combination. Carter sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Some wild striking there from Karlsson.
Karlsson fails to land the takedown. Carter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Karlsson thows a big elbow that misses. Karlsson wanted to stand there but Carter had control of the position. Karlsson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Carter parries the strikes from Karlsson easily there. Karlsson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Carter to escape.
Carter is trying to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter pushes Karlsson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Karlsson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karlsson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Carter avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Karlsson. Carter is looking for a sweep. Karlsson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Carter struggling a bit here. Carter is looking to reverse the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Karlsson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Karlsson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Karlsson preventing the sweep. Carter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Karlsson manages to get himself to full guard.
Karlsson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Carter off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Karlsson circles away. Carter looks gassed! Karlsson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carter's guard. Carter is trying to keep Karlsson in close.
Karlsson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Carter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Karlsson pushing down on Carter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Karlsson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Karlsson is looking to take a break and control but Carter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carter wants to sweep but Karlsson has passed to side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Karlsson trying to control the position but Carter is working away. Carter struggling a bit here. Carter is looking to regain half guard here but Karlsson keeps moving and retains side control. Carter is trying to control Karlsson's posture but Karlsson avoids it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Carter tries for a takedown but Karlsson circles away easily and Karlsson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carter won't be happy with that. Carter manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter wants to pass the guard but Karlsson is defending well. Carter works his way into full mount! Carter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Karlsson is looking to escape. Carter raining down shots from the mount! Carter tries to control but Karlsson wriggling away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Karlsson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Carter trying to control but Karlsson is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Karlsson dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Karlsson misses with a takedown attempt and Carter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Carter passes easily into side control. Nice work. Karlsson is trying to control Carter's posture but Carter avoids it. Karlsson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Carter working away. Karlsson is looking for a sweep. Carter in side control, just content to control the action for now. Karlsson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Karlsson works his way to full guard. Good work. Karlsson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Karlsson trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karlsson is looking to sweep but instead, Carter has passed into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Karlsson taking some punishment here, with Carter in his half guard. Carter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Carter is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Carter is nestled in close to Karlsson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Karlsson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carter is working away from the top position though. Carter is pressing down on Karlsson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Karlsson is holding on for now. Carter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Carter wants to stand but Karlsson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Carter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Karlsson's head. Karlsson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Karlsson is looking for a triangle but Carter pushes his legs off easily.
Carteris looking to pass into half guard but Karlsson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Karlsson is in guard. Karlsson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Karlsson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Karlsson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Marcus Karlsson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Carter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Karlsson! Carter lands a heavy elbow.
Karlsson is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter landing strikes, looking to finish! Oh Karlsson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Carter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Karlsson's face.

Carter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Carter working for a guillotine from mount but Karlsson is in no mood to give up. Carter lands a big elbow. Karlsson is in all sorts of trouble here.
A nice elbow there by Carter. Karlsson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Karlsson tries to hold on but Carter postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter lands with some strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Carter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Karlsson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Carter content just to control the position here. Carter working for a guillotine from mount but Karlsson is in no mood to give up. Karlsson tries to reverse the position but Carter maintains control. Karlsson seems to have got his legs back now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carter controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Isaiah Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Carter motions for Karlsson to come forward. Carter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Karlsson throws a sloppy head kick and Carter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Karlsson looks for a takedown but Carter sprawls well. Carter closes the distance and clinches. Karlsson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Carter prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Karlsson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Carter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Carter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Carter wants to stand but Karlsson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Carter works over Karlsson with some ground and pound from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter lands a couple of decent looking shots. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karlsson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carter stands and throws Karlsson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Karlsson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Karlsson tries to escape but Carter is in control. Karlsson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Carter off and has taken his back! Carter is really stuck here.
Karlsson scores with punches and elbows. Karlsson biding his time, looking for the opening.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Karlsson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karlsson is landing with strikes from the back. Carter fending off the submission attempt from Karlsson. Karlsson connects with a big shot to the side of Carter's head.
This has been an exciting period of action! Karlsson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Karlsson lands punches and elbows. Karlsson working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Karlsson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Karlsson is cranking Carter's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Carter! He's tightened the choke and Carter is tapping out!
