With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Jimenez!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Allen shoots and misses
and Jimenez counters with a straight right hand.
Jimenez cracks Allen with a right hand to the side of the head.
Allen walks into a stiff left hand from Jimenez.
Jimenez connects with the punch.
Nice cross by Jimenez.
Jimenez dips to his left and cracks Allen with an uppercut!
Allen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at AXIS - Rio Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Allen shoots in but Jimenez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jimenez lands with a nice body punch.
Allen walks into a left hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big left from Jimenez misses.

Jimenez lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Earl Allen has been cut.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jimenez. That's going to slow Allen down.
Nice uppercut there from Jimenez.

Jimenez misses the jab.
Jimenez misses with a hook.
Jimenez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jimenez just misses with a punch to the body.
Allen blocks a jab.
Allen takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jimenez is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Allen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Jimenez scores with a leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jimenez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Allen moves away.

Allen slips a jab from Jimenez.
Allen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Hugo Jimenez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jimenez looks to throw the jab but Allen is out of range.
Jimenez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters circling - Jimenez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jimenez throws a leg kick but Allen sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Allen slips under a jab.
As Jimenez tries to get set, Allen tries to push him back and clinch up but Jimenez manages to avoid the attempt.
Allen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Allen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jimenez sprawls well. Jimenez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Allen gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Earl Allen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice combination there by Jimenez.
Hugo Jimenez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jimenez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Allen was well out of range. Poor timing from Jimenez.
Allen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jimenez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Allen backs up against the cage.
Allen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Jimenez cracks Allen with a right hand to the side of the head.
Allen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jimenez.
Allen fails with the takedown
and Jimenez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jimenez lands an overhand right.
Jimenez scores with a jab to the jaw.


Allen is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Allen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Oh Allen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jimenez throws a monster overhand right that drops Allen! Jimenez follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hugo Jimenez!
After winning the bout, Hugo Jimenez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
