Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis pushes Dux up against the cage in a clinch.
Dux tries to pull guard but Pettis won't allow it.
Dux jumps guard but Pettis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pettis.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pettis.

Dux jumps into guard, dragging Pettis to the mat.
Dux is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Dux looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dux seems to be looking for submissions.
Dux wants to pass to mount but Pettis is defending the position.
Pettis is staying active underneath Dux, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dux passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pettis!
Dux tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pettis is trying to stand.

Dux working for a submission but Pettis is keeping him at bay.

Dux is working for a guillotine from mount but Pettis frees his head quite easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pettis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dux wants to finish this one by submission but Pettis is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dux.
Dux has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Dux misses with a head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dux working for a submission but Pettis is keeping him at bay.
Dux lands a big shot there that rocks Pettis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Pettis is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Dux is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Dux extends the arm and Pettis is forced to tap!
