Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Randy Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Alko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Grant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Alko! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Topper Green and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grant shoots for a takedown but Alko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Grant misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Alko.
Alko throws a right and a left that both miss. Grant appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Grant misses with a hook. Alko ducked under it nicely. Grant takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Grant feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alko is on top in guard.
Grant striking off his back but it's not causing Alko any problems. Grant is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Alko is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grant looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Alko controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grant is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Alko engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grant is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Alko stands up and waves to Grant to follow him. Alko swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Grant.
It looks like Randy Grant has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Alko fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Alko circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Grant to the canvas! Grant doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Alko keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Alko! During a confident post fight interview, James Alko thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
