Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Manson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sonny White will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Manson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sonny White!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Manson. No joy for White on that attempt.
White shoots in but no luck this time.

Manson drives through and clinches with White against the cage.
Manson is working for takedown but White is calmly controlling the position for now.
Manson taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Manson pulls guard successfully.
Manson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Manson is on top in guard.

Manson stands and throws White's legs to the side, diving into side control.
White is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Manson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Manson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
White shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Manson but Manson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
George Manson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sonny White.

A head kick from Manson lands but White takes it in his stride.

Manson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Manson shoots for a double leg takedown but White sprawls well. He's pushed Manson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Manson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Manson looks up at the clock and then as White takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Manson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

White finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
George Manson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Manson doesn't manage to clinch there - White circles away.
White has his takedown stuffed
and Manson counters with a nice low kick that buckles White's knee momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Manson shoots in looking for a takedown but White manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Manson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Manson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as White walks away with a smile on his face. Manson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Manson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that White can do to turn this around?

Manson shoots in looking for a takedown. White tries to sprawl out of it but Manson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. White manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
White avoids a punch combination nicely.

Manson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Manson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
White wants to control but Manson is keeping busy.
White tries to roll over but Manson keeps him under control.

Manson is taking a breather. White says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Manson wants to work for an arm triangle but White is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Manson blocks the strikes from White.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Manson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that George Manson will probably get the nod.

and White counters with a series of strikes. Manson will be more careful next time no doubt.

Manson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Manson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Manson wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
White ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
White is looking to land body kicks.

Manson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in White's guard.
Manson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

White has his foot on Manson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Manson works his way back into a safe position though.

George Manson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Manson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in White's guard.

Well Manson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
