Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Han Denderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nam Ho ! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ho avoids the body shot from Denderson.
Denderson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Denderson throws a hook but Ho avoids it easily. Denderson with a lazy takedown attempt and Ho counters with a straight right hand. Denderson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Denderson cracks Ho with an elbow. That is naaassty. An elbow from Denderson crashes against the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ho can do anything to dispel that myth. Denderson lands a few punches from side control. Ho struggling a bit here. Denderson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Denderson scores with punches from side control. Ho looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sloppy strikes there by Denderson. Denderson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Denderson scoring with punches and elbows. Denderson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Denderson working the ground and pound from side control. Denderson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Denderson scoring with punches from side control. Denderson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ho knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Ho is looking for a sweep. Denderson in side control lands a decent elbow. Denderson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Denderson scores with punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Denderson working the body and head with strikes. Denderson working the ground and pound.
Ho is rocked! Denderson lands some shots froms side control. Ho is still in real trouble! Can Denderson finish him? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ho on the wrong end of some ground and pound. A big shot lands for Denderson! That's hurt Ho ! Will he recover? Denderson fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Han Denderson! After winning the bout, Han Denderson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
