The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laponov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Souza throws a looping overhand right but Laponov ducks down to avoid it.
Laponov fails to land the takedown.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Laponov is defended easily by Souza.
Laponov throws a head kick but Souza moves out of range.
Souza is looking for the big counter here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Laponov has time to react.
Souza looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Laponov walks into a straight right hand from Souza.
Laponov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Laponov throws a series of punches but Souza avoids them all with ease.
Marcos Souza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Souza cracks Laponov with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Laponov looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Souza finish him?
Laponov is rocked!
It looks like Igor Laponov has been cut.
Souza tries a head kick but it misses.
Laponov half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Oh Laponov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Souza closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Laponov out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
